Early morning is one such paradise which always makes you feel good. If something is giving you some refreshment, then it will add zest to that paradise. Coffee is one such item which surely makes you feel like you’re in heaven. Filter coffee was the first method used for the preparation of coffee in which coffee beans were crushed and put into filter. Hot water was poured into the filter and the beverage obtained from it was used to produce coffee.

Later, coffee powder was grained and obtained in coffee particles which are small particles of coffee like sugar and they were mixed with milk. Thus, the generation advancement helped to update the production process in a different manner. Later, readymade coffee machines were introduced and coffee was prepared at ease. These machines automatically produce essence of coffee with the help of some filters and you can even get your desired amount of coffee from them. Normally you can prepare 12 cups of coffee in a single process.

Now, the latest advancement in coffee making is the solar powered coffee machine. This machine basically works on the principle that sunlight is the ultimate source of energy and it is used to heat water. The boiling process is used to produce the desired cup of coffee. This coffee maker is not only helpful in preparing coffee but also helps in preparing tea either.

This machine is provided with solar panels which are powered by sunlight. These solar panels are provided with built-in lithium battery. The water can be stored in this panel and it is effectively heated with the help of solar energy available. Normally, it is estimated and calibrated that 0.03-0.04 kw/h energy is required for boiling of water and it is obtained from solar energy.

A 10cmX10 cm solar panel can effectively generate 0 .1 Kw/h energy. Thus, if sunlight is imbibed by this solar panel for eight hours a day, it will result in the production of approximately 22 cups of coffee per day. The striking feature is that the energy available is solely obtained from sunlight and it’s totally inexpensive and eco-friendly.

Since this is portable, it can be moved indoor and outdoor with much ease and it is free from electrical connection. One type of solar coffee maker employs a mechanism in which your desired coffee maker is about to use a rod to heat the water with the help of solar energy. When the temperature in it reaches nearly 80 degrees, a built-in thermostat will automatically switch off the process. During the thermostat initiation, a light will turn on to indicate that the solar coffee maker is working. After some moment of time, the light will turn off which will indicate that that coffee is ready and you can enjoy the aroma of coffee. The rod is pushed up with the help of green top present at the top. This mechanism is very similar to a ball point pen.

The most important aspect of this coffee maker is its eco-friendly nature. It won’t pollute atmosphere since the energy is obtained from sun. But one of the issues associated with it is the model like this have not hit the floor of commercial market yet. All the concepts are still theoretical and conceptual. Certain things are really uncertain regarding the amount of coffee produced and energy required to heat the water. Still, some controversies regarding the fulfilment of the customers are also raised. In order to experience the aroma of coffee with solar power, you have to wait for some more time.

Espresso machine and the filter coffee makers took a turn for the better when they came up with the single cup coffee machine. Everyone was accustomed to the usual coffee machines that would make a whole pot of coffee, but there was always the “no good enough” feelings among the user.

The key complain, is the difficulty in getting the right amount of coffee, it is usually a problem of brewing too much or too little. Sure you could adjust the amount of coffee you wanted to brew but most people find that it is difficult to estimate the exact amount of coffee grounds for the amount of coffee they wanted to drink.

With the single serve machines, the pre-measured single serve allows you to make the perfect measured cup of coffee every time.

There are maybe close to hundred different brands of single serve coffee makers around, and it can be quite frustrating to choose the right one. However, it can be segment into 3 board categories: the K-cups, the T-disc and the pods.

First, is the K-cups where you can get gourmet coffee as well as teas and hot cocoas. You do not have to worry about measuring, filters or even grinding the beans. The K-cups offers over 50 types of beverages and they can be brewed anywhere in less than a minute with the Keurig machine.

The K-cups have their own brands and their own patented technology in sealing the coffee ground to ensure that you get the freshest cup of coffee with every cup. And, their variety range from Starbucks coffee to Twinnings tea, so you can say that they are serving some of the most branded F&B brands. If the above are consideration when purchasing coffee, then the Keurig is your choice.

Then, there is the T-disc that offer cups of pure pleasure such as an espresso or latté with no fuss or mess. However, the advantage of T-disc is definitely its cappuccino, that comes complete with real froth.

Their patented code on the T-disc brew each individual drink differently. The T-disc uses a machine that is called the Tassimo. And, this is the machine that converts the code that it read from the T-disc to a frothy cup of cappuccino.

If you are someone that is particular about how the brew would turn out, then Tassimo is the machine that you should get. Especially, if you want an instant cappuccino.

Lastly, there are the coffee pods machine that are more flexible than Keurig or Tassimo, some single serve are able to take in any range of pods from Douwe Egberts to Nespresso. These pods mitigate a major problem for single cup coffee machine -the closed brand system.

Despite all its convenience and ease of use, the single serve usually can only use its own brand of coffee, for example, Keurig can only use the K-cups and Tassimo can only use its T-disc.

However, with “no brand” pod machine coming into the market, they can use pods from any companies, giving the pod coffee maker the largest range of beverages to choose from. So, pod coffee maker is easy to use, measured to user preferences and have the widest range of coffee.

No matter what your tastes are in hot beverages you can be sure to find a single cup coffee machine within these 3 categories that will make your life easier. The ease of these machines and the variety of choices that you have, will make this a must have to any household, if not now, then in the near future.

There are so many different types of coffee makers available today with infinite features that it is hard to know which one is the best for you. Whether you want a rich cup of drip coffee, or a steaming hot cappuccino filled with a deep shot of espresso, coffee maker options abound. However, the large range of functionality, coupled with prices beginning at $20 and upwards of $2000, how can you know which one will satisfy your coffee craving?

Whether you want a good basic coffee maker or one that has programmable features, one that comes with a thermal carafe or one that can grind and brew all in one, we have listed a few of the favorites, as rated by both professional evaluators and everyday users.

Reviews include comments on such features as quality of flavor, brewing temperature, quality of construction, ease of use, durability, and heat retention. Other factors include programmable features, temperature control, and ease of cleaning.

Braun KF510

This no-frills automatic drip machine was rated best overall for a basic coffee maker. The built-in Brita water filtration system improves the flavor of the coffee, and it brews at a hotter temperature than most other basic models. This unit is well constructed and durable, built to last.

Drawbacks included a lengthy brew time, no programmable features, and no automatic shut-off. The price is approximately $30, which makes this all-around favorite affordable for everyone.

Cuisinart DCC-1200

For around $80, you can purchase this top-rated, full-feature machine.

Users said the quality of taste from this automatic drip machine is excellent, and it comes with an adjustable temperature hot plate, allowing you to choose how hot you want your coffee. The machine is durable and reliable, with a full three-year warrantee. Ease of use features includes a programmable timer and convenient cleaning. Most said this coffee maker was worth the extra cost.

The only disadvantage mentioned is that some users wish the machine had a water level gauge. The unit has a special function to allow for making smaller amounts of coffee, and a gauge would make this feature more user-friendly.

Capresso MT500

At a cost of around $180, this coffee maker is the Rolls Royce of automatic drip machines, complete with all the luxury features. Rated best overall by The Wall Street Journal, this model brews your coffee hot and fast.

A built-in water filter makes the Capresso the highest rated model for taste. The thermal carafe will not allow the coffee to burn on the hot plate, yet it keeps the coffee hot and fresh for a full four hours.

The only drawbacks for this model were the price, and that the carafe can sometimes drip while coffee is being poured. The carafe can also overflow if it is not properly placed during brewing.

If price is an issue, the Zojirushi Fresh Brew is available for around $90 and it is an excellent, more economical alternative that is also highly rated for taste, quality, and reliability.

Technivorm Clubline

This coffee maker manufactured in the Netherlands has everyone infatuated not only the quality of the construction, but the superb quality of the brew as well. Articles have appeared in such magazines as Wine Connoisseur describing the richness of flavor produced by this coffee maker.

The unique design of this machine does not include a pump to push the water out of the heater, nor is it gravity-fed. Rather, the water in the heater must boil before it can transfer to the filter and brew the coffee. This guarantees the water will always brew your coffee at 200 degrees Fahrenheit – the optimal temperature to achieve the best flavor.

This coffee maker has the highest wattage available on the market, allowing the water to heat to brewing temperature in a very short period of time. Features include a quiet brew function and an adjustable temperature hot plate. Depending upon the model, you can get one with a glass pot or a thermal carafe.

Coffee connoisseurs report that this coffee maker allows various tones and flavors to be pulled out of the coffee that other coffee makers cannot, mostly because of the brewing temperature. The exquisite quality of the Technivorm Clubline has earned it certification with the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), and overall kudos from everyone who owns one.

The only drawback to this fantastic coffee maker is the price. At upwards of $225, the cost is as impressive as the quality of the brew. Any owner will tell you, though, that the cost is well worth the rewards of the brew. It comes with a one-year guarantee, but satisfied users everywhere rave about the reliable workmanship of this model.

With so many varieties of coffee makers available today, choose the one that provides you with the best balance of quality, reliability, and flavor, yet will not take a heavy toll on your budget. With so many consumer reviews and professional ratings available to read, you should be able to find exactly the right coffee maker to fit your individual needs.
