Flavor Mixed in Coffee Can Be Good

Many people do not understand the obsession that people seem to have with adding things into their coffee. You probably know one of these people who takes their coffee straight. They are likely to never add so much as a drop of milk to their coffee. They usually will state that adding anything just takes away for the natural superior taste the coffee has and is detrimental to its character.

However, many people disagree and believe by adding in flavors and creams that they are only enhancing the quality of the coffee. In fact, even the professionals who truly do enjoy a straight cup a little mixer now and then is a nice thing that they enjoy.

As if there are not enough different coffees before adding stuff into it, right? By adding things the number of different coffees probably triples or more. It can make even the biggest coffee expert wonder how in the world they will ever understand all the different coffees. People love adding things to their coffee, though, and it is something that is sure here to stay.

It isn’t even just adding things in, either. Some people like to mix different blends to get a whole new hybrid blend. Of course, the big thing now seems to be flavorings. People will add almost any flavor to their coffee – mint, chocolate, alcohol, vanilla, almond, cherry, whatever is around. Coffee does seem to suit almost any flavoring pairing, even spicy, like cayenne for the bold coffee drinker. The additions of flavorings just make the coffee more interesting and unique to the individual drinker. There are even a variety of ways to serve coffee that mixes it up.

The different methods of brewing create cappuccinos, espressos and other brews. Even ice has found its way into coffee in an acceptable manner. Iced coffees are hotter than ever in the United States and something that seems to be here to stay. These iced coffees are usually very strongly brewed due to the fact the added ice melts and dilutes the coffee. Starting with a strong brew will produce a good tasting coffee and not just a brown glass of water. They often have flavoring added and usually have some milk or cream added to them as well. They are basically just poured into a tall glass and drank cold. They are perfect for the coffee lover that hates hot drinks.

Most people will find a favorite and stick with it. Eventually they start to become known at their local coffee house and say give me the regular without a weird questioning look. People can often become set in their ways when it comes to coffee. So if you are confronted by a coffee drinker who still takes their coffee straight, give them respect and understand they have probably been drinking it that way for years and are just not ready for change.

Don’t Throw Out Your Old Coffee! Make A Delicious Drink

I still brew a new pot of coffee everyday, but now I stretch my dollar by saving some of the coffee that would otherwise be dumped down the drain. I used to waste lots of coffee by making a new pot of coffee each morning. Then the next day I would dump the old pot of coffee and make a new one. What can I say I like the great taste of good gourmet coffee. The bitter taste of old coffee wasnt doing it for me. Then one day I had a good idea, I decided to start saving my coffee to make a cold coffee drink later. Since I dont like to drink hot coffee in the middle of a hot summer day, the iced coffee drink worked out perfectly.

Here is what I do to make my iced coffee drink, it cuts down on wasted coffee and saves you money in the long run.

When the coffee has cooled off, pour the coffee into a mason jar. Then put the mason jar filled with cooled coffee in the refrigerator. Now when your looking for a nice cool drink to quench your thirst during the middle of the day, you can make an iced coffee drink.

Here is how I make my iced coffee drink:

Put ice in a glass,

Fill the glass about 3/4 full with your left over coffee,

Add your favorite flavored coffee creamer to taste

Stir it up and enjoy your iced coffee

Also try blending the cold coffee up in a blender with ice cream, its delicious.

Your Own Coffee Club – Embrace The Joy

Coffee, the brew that starts you in the morning and can wind you down at night, how does it do that? Well, I have my own theory, it is a brew that reads your mind! When I need to wake up and think it is black, robust and hot! Then when I want to sink into a dream state and unwind it is creamy mocha and warm…Yes! Now to sit and talk and sip it needs to be a robust coffee flavor with a hint of other favorite flavors and chilled.

I have several friends that love coffee as much as I do so we started our Girls Coffee Club. Once every two weeks, sometimes more, we meet for coffee and everything that comes out of a group of women enjoying themselves with their favorite coffee. At first we just went to one coffee house. Then we started moving around to different ones and we found we anticipated the wonderful new experience as much as the coffee and the chatting.

Then it happened, we ran out of coffee houses and so we started over and went back to the original location. At first it was fine and we went thru the list again, once again we finished the rounds. We found we were talking more about missing the anticipation of a new experience than the latest diet or what was going on in our world so we chose to fix the issue, Home Brew!

Now we alternate going to the coffee houses with going to each others homes and testing new coffee blends. In the summer we can get out the blender and do ice blended drinks or pour over frozen coffee ice cubes then in the colder months we can do hot coffee with flavors.

We have found that we now own at least two coffee makers each, one for plain brew and one for flavored. We have also found that we try more blends this way because it is more economical than in the coffee houses.

We serve flavored creamers and sweeteners like honey, syrups and flavored sugars. It seems the local grocery stores are getting wise to our little coffee club and are now stocking more blends of coffee, flavors and accessories as well. We can get Colombian coffee, Mountain grown, Island grown or even Organic grown coffee. They even have many of them in small vacuumed sealed bags or grind your own so you can get just enough to test. How smart is that?

One night we found the suicide blend! Remember when you were a kid and you put a little of all the soft drink flavors in your cup and your mother looked at you like you were crazy, well give it try with coffee. We had several blends of coffee so we mixed them in the brew basket and laughed till we cried thinking of what our mothers would say. It wasn’t bad, give it try. If it comes out too strong for your taste just add some water into your cup that way it works for everyone.

I like it best when everyone brings a different additive so I can try something I would never buy. I have found that I was pleasantly surprised with many of the new tastes and flavors. In the store I would think, who would try this flavor, and I can now say I would. In a group there is always the one adventurous person that pushes the limits on mixing flavors in their coffee and I know that number has expanded in ours.

The taste of choice changes with the seasons as well. Sometimes the, let’s try this, flavor is unexpected. Like a shaker of pumpkin pie spice sprinkled on top of whip cream for the Holidays, who knew? Think outside of the box.

I strongly recommend you start a coffee club and embrace the joy that comes with it.

Coffee Drink Recipes From Around The World

Coffee is the second most imported commodity in today’s world, right behind petroleum. This beverage has become so popular that many coffee-derivative drinks have been produced and consumed for years. Below are a few common coffee drink recipes.

The first drink would, of course, be coffee. Grown all around the world but especially in Ethiopia, the Middle East, Columbia and Brazil, coffee seeds are harvested, dried, and then roasted. The process in preparation is complex, but the coffee drink recipe for coffee is simple: Coffee beans, consisting of caffeine and a variety of oils indigenous to the particular environment in which the beans are harvested.

One coffee drink, called “Ca Phe Sua,” popular in Vietnam comes in two variations “Ca Phe Sua Da” (“coffee, milk, and ice”) and “Ca Phe Sua Nong” (coffee and milk hot”). The coffee drink recipe for the first consists of the simple process of blending dark French Roast with a quarter to half percent of condensed milk and then pouring, through a small drip filter, over ice. The coffee drink recipe for the second is similar, but ice is withheld, leaving only hot “Ca Phe Sua.”

The famous and widely consumed Espresso, invented and developed in Italy and popular all over Europe, has a wide array of coffee drink recipes. Only a couple of them are described here.

A formal Italian Espresso is made by forcing moderately hot water through high pressure (nine to ten atmospheres, or bars) into extremely fine-ground coffee to create a drink thicker in consistency than regular coffee and composed of a variety of vegetable oils, proteins, sugars, and reddish-brown foam called Crema.

Espresso has very little water. The coffee drink recipe for Caffe’ Americano (“American Coffee”), an American version of Espresso, has a higher degree of water and is made similar to the drip-brew fashion.

The coffee drink recipe for Latte (Italian for “milk”) is a simple one: “Café a Latte, meaning “Coffee and Milk,” consists of one-third Espresso and two-thirds steamed milk, poured together simultaneously into either side of the drinking cup. Café’ Lattes typically have foam floating on top.

The Frappaccino is a popular drink sold by the Starbucks coffee chain. This coffee drink recipe is as follows: one-part soluble coffee is blended with water, which in turn is mixed with a one-part proprietary liquid comprised of milk, sugar substances, and caramel flavoring and then finally with ice. A Frappaccino has a milkshake consistency, a strong coffee flavor, and is chilled before drinking.

All of these and many other coffee drink recipes are available on the Internet or in various recipe books. For those who love coffee, these coffee drink recipes will leave mouths watering!
